Specialized Studio 1: Materiality- Material Connexion Assignment

  1. img_2237 I found this Nanocashmere, by Lora & Festa Limited, very interesting due to its waterproof capabilities. My project is geared towards functionality and accessibility, while still staying comfortable and, in a sense, luxurious. This utilitarian aspect of an otherwise delicate and refined fabric is perfect for my project concept.
  2. img_2253 Similar to the waterproof cashmere, this fleece, called POLARTEC, is equally as durable and useable. Furthermore, its ability to keep in warmth is a plus.
  3. img_2247 This insulated, recycled batting,  called eco2sy is perfect for more insulated iterations of my project concept. The odor-constricting coffee ground aspect of the batting would be great for people who don’t have time or resources to constantly wash garments and need something that can stay fresh for long periods of time. Its lightweight and weather-resistant components are also extremely useful (similar to the first two fabrics I have chosen).
