Drawing & Imaging Perspective Painting

For the perspective painting assignment we began by learning how to draw in 2 point perspective.

After a few attempts at it, I started on the drawing that would soon become my painting.

I wanted to use the corner of my room as the location, due to the amount of boxed shapes. I knew it would pose a challenge to me to be able to get them all correct, which is exactly what it did.

I spent a lot of time on the drawing trying to get all of the angles correct, yet it still looked slightly off. Although, it was the best of the three drawings I had done, so its the one I used as a basis for the painting.

Then, I began the painting process. I used a peach color as the base, plus white, and plus black. It gave me a range of tones from pastel, all the way to mauve and brown. I wanted the painting to be stylized in a way that they all appeared as blocks making up the interior, I think I did that well but it didn’t come across as such to everyone. I also know some angles are off but I’m not too sure in which ways to fix them, and didn’t want to ruin the composition as a whole. I again spent a long time painting and working on it, since I haven’t ever had to make a painting like this before, and I think the end result was done to the best of my ability.
