I have learned so much over the course of three weeks! The most valuable thing for me is having a much better understanding of some of adobes programs. When I first started I just thought of graphic design as a very boxed in technical way of making art. Now I understand it more as a different approach to communicating ideas to a viewer. Although I still feel graphic design is very technical I now realize that the advantage of knowing such techniques can be applied to any area of art in order to better influence, persuade, or convince your audience. I am so excited that so many possibilites have now opened up in my mind when it comes to making art. It seems like I can pretty much make anything I want by merging my fine art skills with this new technology. My most gratifying project was the book. I have been wanting to make my own book for ages now and it helped me use photoshop more than I ever have. My new questions are just: what classes can I take next? What should I make next? What career do I really want now?! I would love to design book covers in the future and more things that end up being tangible products.
