Observation #2

For the circle line tour I was unfortunately not able to attend due to work, but I went to Battery Park after my shift that day to view the shoreline as best as I could. What I observed was how the water is both entertainment/relaxing but also has many more important purposes. Looking out and seeing Ellis island along with Jersey really puts into perspective that Manhattan is a island. You always know it but it’s defiantly different when you see it and you’re like oh ya.. I like Battery Park because it reminds me of a park back in Denver called City Park, although there is no huge body of water (just a man made lake) it still has this mix of being in the city but also being somewhere completely different. It was relaxing to feel almost at home there.

The system I saw was just how the water plays in everyones daily life even if you don’t realize it. Wether its your escape, going to Battery Park or the Chelsea Boardwalk it provides a comfort from the always moving city with out having to drag your self out to the Rockaways or wherever you choose to go.
