Bridge #3: STUDIO

For my bridge #3 project I decided to tell a story about my home Denver, Colorado. As i move on in life and am growing up, moving to New York for school it is only a matter of time before I find my new home. Although Denver will always be my home I’m in a point in my life where it won’t be so central anymore, so the importance for this project was to pay tribute to Denver.

I used photoshop to collage images together that I have personally taken. They are all from Colorado and each one has a place or component of importance to me.

I started off with an image of a sunset I had taken almost 2 years ago along with part of the Denver city skyline. The evergreen trees in the back is to part tribute to the main trees through the city and mountains. Each fall when the trees shed their pine needles and become blank branches before the snow settles on them.

Next page is to talk about two of my favorite places, one being an old pet shop my best friend and I often visited senior year of high school to pet the cats waiting on adoption and look at all the fish. The next the butterfly pavilion which you could spend hours in just looking at all the greenery and butterflies.

I am the type of person who loves to be in cars, I love driving, I love being in the passenger seat. Any of my friends from back home know that if there is nothing to do going for a drive is always an option, especially being so close to the mountains I feel so lucky to be able to experience city and nature. This image is a road that takes you to a place in Golden, CO called lookout mountain that displays a beautiful view of the mountains on one side and then a full view of the city of Denver on the other. The clouds are to represent the drive up the mountain and feeling like I’m getting higher towards the sky.

This image is the most artistically composed in my opinion. I have again taken two places close to my heart, a hike I went on with my best friend my last week in CO along with a lake I have visited fairly often to canoe and paddle board. The three repeated images in the middle are of me and my mom from a pervious canoe trip.

Growing up I attended a school called RMSEL which is a expeditionary school, I spent a lot of time K-8 going on camping trips to places all over Colorado, Wyoming, California and even Memphis, Tennessee. Once high school began I found myself quickly camping less and less until summer before senior year with two of my best friends. Which is where the two sets of images are from. This was to pay tribute to my growing up in nature and how I’ve evolved as a person as much as the areas around me.

For my last page I wanted to focus on two important moments in my life, not because of any specific activity or place but just moments I felt very happy and appreciative of where I was able to grow up. Being so far away from home has been a major reflection and has helped me gain a lot of appreciation for the place I got to spend 18 years of my life in.

I really enjoyed this project and believed I put my best work thus far forward, I gained lots of knowledge of skills I can use when the final Bridge project rolls around.
