Do you prefer working with line or value? Why?

I prefer working with value because it helps me see the forms without having to be very sketchy, which is a habit I have, especially with working with lines. Value helps me think of things as fluid forms rather than lines. Lines, on the other hand, I feel, make my work feel very rigid and not as great or as detailed as a value (shading) drawing. Shading helps me figure out the form with lights and darks, and contrasting values, rather than lines, which help me outline a figure. It is easier for me to connect objects and have better relation between an object, and negative space, and to make things proportionally correct, as the form is made through shadows.
