Space/Materiality Final: Wearable

This was the inspiration I got from the MET. It is a traditional Korean hanbok/dress. I liked the volume of the hanbok and the way it draped down, from the vest to the bottom of the skirt. This has led me become inspired create a piece that would have some sort of volume and structure, but its own simplicity to it.

I originally started with the idea of having a dress and vest with form. The tulle was supposed to be the base material for the dress, and I was planning on putting flowered-scrunched satin fabric all over the tulle.

These were also other inspirational images I had to create my final wearable, and also sketches that eventually led to my final wearable.

Photoshoot pictures!

And last but not least, here is a video that my friends had helped me compile together.
