In this postcard exercise, I was able to explore the idea of time and history corresponding to that time, which I think is a really cool concept. This exercise also gave me an opportunity to explore the New School database which I haven’t used before. The picture on my postcard is of the New London Ledge Lighthouse, which holds a lot of history, both good and bad. On the other side of my postcard, I wrote about a ghost who is present in the lighthouse and my reference point to where I was sending the postcard was about a former Philippine presidents actions. I sent my postcard back home to the Philippines, and I’m unsure how long it will take, but I’m expecting to receive a message from saying something along the lines of what I sent was very strange! I really like the pictures on postcards because they remain consistent in size and are always visually pleasant. As well, the lighthouse on the postcard was beautiful, so to research and learn more about it was great. More so, to learn about the history of the lighthouse, where it’s located, and what condition its currently in.
