I think it’s hard for people to understand the graphics unless it is accompanied by text. Even for an audience with prior knowledge of the caste system in India, phrases help in further understanding of the work. Maybe the work is too much of an abstraction? I think the use of a restricted color scheme gives the work a sense of uniformity that is required when talking about topics that need a strong sense of identity.
