Pilea is my first plant that I got after arriving in the city. I bought it from a very sweet lady on Facebook Marketplace towards the end of August.

Today, my plant collection has grown quite rapidly to 8! I was talking to my grandmother and she asked me why I’m ‘buying so many plants when I have no space for myself. I didn’t have an answer to give her and this question kept running in my head that night and the next day.

Why am I buying so many?  Am I addicted?  Will I become a ‘crazy plant lady’? (I don’t mind this actually!) Is it because my aunt and my mother have an extensive collection?

It has become a recent habit to take pictures of plants and plant stores whenever I walk past. I also visit the farmers market in Union Square, somewhat religiously now, to see what varieties they have in stock. These pictures are very handy as I can check research the price, plant needs and other information at a more convenient time before making my next purchase.

Houseplants have also become my theme for this year’s Inktober challenge.
