Bill Cunningham was an American fashion photographer for the New York Times, known for his candid and street photography. He then published a group of impromptu pictures in the New York Times in 1978, which soon became the regular series On the Street.
Inspired by Cunningham, I strolled the streets of SoHo in Manhattan, New York City, and took candid photographs of the street style on a Sunday afternoon. The neighborhood of upscale boutiques and chain stores is always busy with people dressed fashionably. After developing a contact sheet of these photos, I noticed patterns in the trends. Denim stood out for me. Then, I wrote a magazine editorial for i-D magazine, which is known for featuring street style. After creating a style guide for the magazine, the editorial has been created on Adobe Illustrator to go with the style of the magazine.
