Controlling who can view your Learning Portfolio

As the creator of your Learning Portfolio you can control who has access. First and foremost, you will want to make sure that your professors and classmates can see your LP. It’s important that your professors see your LP because this is one of the ways they can see how hard you are working! Below you will find the details on setting up your LP’s privacy settings.

What are the privacy settings?
The creator of the site has control over privacy settings. Here are the privacy options for your New School learning portfolio, from most restrictive to least:

  • Only administrator can visit.
In CampusPress, the person who creates the portfolio is the “administrator”. This means that only you can view the content in your portfolio. This setting will not allow anyone else to see your LP.
  • Anyone that visits must first provide this password, not including registered users of this blog.
Your portfolio is password protected, so people can view your blog if they enter a password that you have provided.
  • Only registered users of this blog can have access – anyone found under Users>All Users can have access.
Only people you have specifically added as users can view your portfolio.
  • Visitors must have a login
anyone that is a registered user of The New School Sites can gain access
The is the default setting for your learning portfolio. Anyone with a newschool.edu email account can view your portfolio. Your site is still very private as someone would have to know your URL
This allows your professors and classmates to have access to your LP.

  • Discourage search engines from indexing this site (default privacy setting)
Your portfolio can be read by anyone with the URL, but search engines such as Google won’t be able to find it. This allows your professors and classmates to have access to your LP.

  • Allow search engines to index this site.
Your portfolio is public, so anyone can see and navigate the site and search indexes such as Google can find and catalog the site. This allows your professors and classmates to have access to your LP.

How do you change the default privacy setting?
