The Library of Babel
After reading “The Library of Babel”, I thought the author tried to represent a side of human society
through metaphor as a library.
At first, people thought that a library full of infinite knowledge would be a paradise that fulfills their
eager of acquiring knowledge. However, they fell into despair after they found out the dark side of it.
The limitless books beyond the possibilities of one human life, and the limitless greed to acquire more
precious books that are hidden in somewhere. The insatiable obsession for not obtaining the optimal book
impoverishes people. The library, where people drop by to find a way rather makes people to lose their
directions and wander around.
Therefore, I think it is like a labyrinth with no walls that has no way out and cause derangement.
