Wired Animal Sculpture

The Process

From the last three board projects I learned that silver wire is much more difficult to manipulate, and I’ve decided to go with the 20 gauge gold wire as the main frame; 22 gauge copper wire as the fasteners. I’ve used the wire cutter, short pliers and needle nose pliers to manipulate the structure. Rather than going off of the 2-D image as the basis of this sculpture, I imagined more of a 3-D structure of the animals anatomy. The animal I decided to go with is the Stout, I put a lot of effort into making it look natural in its posture.
