Time: Final Open Project #1

Open Project #1

*Just incase you forgot, but I had talked to you about doing two open projects rather than doing one video essay and one open and you approved of it, which is why I will be posting about two open projects!*

Process

For my first open project, I decided to make a somewhat humorous video and transform my friends bunny into GODZILLA! I wanted to try something different for my last video project because I feel that the videos I previously made for class were straightforward with no possibility of it being unrealistic (such as bunnies turning into Godzilla). So with that thought, I created my own set out of different sized cardboard boxes that I cut and then painted to look like the buildings and skyscrapers of New York City. I unfortunately don’t have progress pictures of creating the set but it is seen in the video. After finishing the set, I filmed the bunny in its natural habitat because I wanted to be able to show the “good” and “bad” side of him. Working with the bunny was a bit difficult because I obviously can’t train him to do specific things I wish he could’ve done. But with the help of my friends, I got the shots of the bunny that I needed and a fake news clip and interview that I had one act out.

Cardboard set – I used scrap cardboard and crated a black backdrop with a larger piece of cardboard

Final and recap

I’m actually quite proud of how this video turned out and think it’s shows my growth the most from my first video I ever created when first learning how to work Premier. Although it’s not the craziest transitions and overlays that I did, I still learned a lot from when I was first using it and have learned to grow more comfortable with the program. I always wanted to learn how to edit videos so that I could create my own content, and now that I know how, I want to continue working and learning on Premier and I definitely see myself using more often in the future. The one thing I do wish that I could’ve edited was adding more dramatic scenes of the bunny and to show him being really big. The issue I had was that I was constantly moving my files back and forth from my hard drive to laptop, so I kept having to relink the files back together making the process slower and more difficult. Other than that, I’m proud with how the video turned out (especially with my laptop 😛 ).
