InDesign Practice:
Comic Book Research:
Aspect-to-Aspect: effective because it sets the scene.
Action-to-Action: Effective because it adds emphasis to a significant or powerful scene.
Subject-to-Subject: effective because it offers various perspectives of a scene.
For my graphic novel, I will be creating a short story.
Final Graphic Novel:
My graphic novel, “Tastes Like Home,” tells the story of a homesick Arab girl in NYC and her journey finding the traditional Arabic baklava in the city. Throughout this project, I learned how visual components like size and composition can translate as speed, intensity, and emotion for the viewer. If I were to improve this project I would focus less on photo quality and more on volume of images to work on transitions and framing. For future projects, I can now use these elements to portray time passing and story telling with the images I create.
