- Description (from Canvas)
Students developed abstract symbols that represent both how they perceive themselves and how others perceive them. Research and drawing make way to converting drawn line into wire. 2D compositions will expand into the development of dynamic, 3D compositions by abstracting shapes, exploring positive & negative space, and various linear and planer materials, and plaster casting.
- Making Process
I chose “liking things to be organized,” the rectangular one, and “laziness,” the other one looking like two hills, as my two perceived characteristics. For the final 3D piece the main structure is a chipboard box. I installed a piece of wavy metal sheet and three pieces of red plastic paper attached on chipboard to create the negative spaces in the middle of the box.
