Tarkovsky’s “Stalker” 1979

Tarkovsky “Stalker” felt like a painterly/dreamlike film filled with questions of essentialism, search of hope and faith, followed by answers hidden within its delicate shots. The slow-paced tempo evoke an eery suspense yet the subject matter is rather tranquil. In my opinion, this is a push and play the director intends for the audience to fill in the gaps of meaning during these long strides of singular shots. Consequently my vague attempt at digesting this film resulted closer to a self reflection than a search for meaning.
