What avatars have you created in the past?
- I’ve created avatars for social media profiles, online programs, and video games.
How did you choose them and how long did you think they would represent you?
- I chose attributes that represented me physically at the time. Hair color, eye color, face shape, clothing, and accessories all contributed to the physical appearance of my avatar. I never really took into consideration that the avatar I had created wouldn’t change in appearance as I did.
What other avatars have you come across that you’ve liked and why?
- I remember creating avatars with the friends to play Wii Sports video games. Dressing up our avatars and creating unique identities that represented myself and my friends made the games personal for us. Although they were video games and not physical sports our representative avatars made it seem like we were all simultaneously playing these outdoor sports when in reality we were just standing on a rug in my living room.
My definition of The Avatar:
An avatar is a tool we use to control and create a version of our identity represented or embodied in another form.
