For my Chindogu I chose to do the portable sidewalk. I am going to make my sidewalk out of a large roll of plastic painted to look like a sidewalk. I am also going to make a case for my Chindogu as well as an unrolling mechanism.
Today I began sketching my Chindogu as well as creating a paper prototype.
I ran into a problem with how I will be able to roll and unroll my Chindogu. I came up with a few solutions so I am going to test them on my prototype in class to see if they will work. A few of my ideas were: use a rolling pin, use the springs from tape measures, use strings to pull back, dowels on each end, etc…
