We were asked to design two symbols, one which described how others perceived us and the other that described how we saw ourselves. I decided to pick ambitious (left, self) and friendly (right, others).
We then had to translate these drawings into wire sculptures.
We were then asked to combine them and draw axonometric drawings.
The next step was to create Bristol models, which I struggled a lot on.
In addition we worked with plaster. I decided to invert my shape and play with negative space.
Finally we used pictures from the NYPL collection to inspire us for the final part of the project, a combination of planer and linear materials. I wanted to focus on transparencies, line, and reflections. I was drawing inspiration from ice, jellyfish and kintsugi pottery.
