In this group project, we were asked to choose one issue in the fashion industry and come up with a possible solution or action to improve it because clothing industry is the second most polluting industry in the world.

 

Among all the processes of production, fabric dyeing is resulted to be one of the major polluting actions. In China, for each ton of fabric a mill dyes, many rivers run with untreated toxic dyes washed off from the mill.

 

In this book we made, we used only natural dyes to explore various outcomes on different textiles. Then me and my partner came up with a few design sketches to see the fabrics on garments.
