Refraction 2014
Refraction is the theme of 2014. The idea comes from reflection, deep sea, light and shadow. This collection is very dramatic.
Mother of Pearl
his is the high heels in the killer heels exhibition, called Mother of Pearl. I guess the idea comes from the mermaid. The material is stone or jade.
heels Design
The first step of designing a shoes should be sketching ideas. All the inspirations of that season come from reflection, deep sea, light and shadow.
Designers need to make the pattern for the heels. Everything about the shoes should be planned.
Then designer will use this thing to make the construction of the shoes. Which could also make sure the shoes have the right size for the consumers.
After finish the construction, designer need to finish all the stitch on the shoes to make sure it is strong enough to be wore.
The next step should be cutting the material for the decoration on the shoes. I guess they use laser cut to get each small square for the shoes. In the end, they put all the decoration on the shoes.
Mother of Pearl
This is the shoes named Mother of Pearl. The surface might be used by jade. The shape has a strong feeling of architecture.

This shoes’ inspiration maybe comes from nail. There are thousands of pieces of nail shape on the shoes. This creature gives me a feeling of shell animal under deep sea.
Unfrozen
This shoes also comes from the same collection. This shoes name is unfrozen. The liquid shape on the surface explains the name “unfrozen”.
Petra Högström and Matilda Maroti are two high fashion designer, they work for Shoise. In 2014, their shoes collection was Refraction. In 2013, their shoes collection was Remotion. Today the shoes in killer heel exhibition is Mother of Pearl, which belongs in Refraction 2014 collection. About the material two designers choosing, I don’t know. I guess that designer might choose something as jade. The shoes are definitely hand made, they made each small pieces of the shoes and assembled them together.
