Today is Friday, I have men’s tailoring at night. Personally, I really like this course, I really appreciate this professor. Every Friday, I would like to dress well and go to school. On the other side, it is Friday, I don’t want to other people know that I spend all day and night in school. So usually I would like to dress with my personal style. Such as this oversized white garment, it says information is not knowledge. It comes from CDG, which is also my favorite designer. Even through, I need to do a lot of sewing works at night, this garment is not that convenient to do this work. But sometimes, no matter how difficult to wear, I should have the ability to overcome it. I feel very comfortable to wear this garment. It is very flexible. And in the deep mind, I want to see how people react about this garment, I want to hear some good words from them.

Today I check the weather, it says today is very cold, so I take out my heavy jacket today, I don’t want to get sick during semester to miss class anymore, so I have to protect myself and keep myself warm. So in the end, I wear like a Michelin. I know that it looks not cool at all. A lot of students in our school rather keeping their attitude than keeping themselves warm. So what I did is totally opposite to what they did. I think probably because of it has been the third year at Parsons already, I am not that much care about how I look like. Since staying up too much, I do care about my healthy more than my appearance. My friends say that why I wear that thick jacket, it is not that cold outside. I say I do feel the cold air goes through my neck and sneak into my chest. While I wear it, I do feel warm and safe. Because I hear that this year, winter will come very early.

Today I forget to check the wear, I still think the weather should be very cold, so I put my winter coat on me, and wear a shirt inside. They are all black. It is also a kind of formal garment I have. Because today I have a field trip, but when I go to school, the temperature is too high than I thought, it is too late to go back to home to change another clothes. So the entire field trip, my back is wet all the time. Personally I really like that garment, the whole dress is very clean and very parsons, this time is the first time that I feel that the coat is too thick. But I also very like this black coat, because this one is the only size I could find online which is fit on my body. So I very very like it, especially the pocket details on the coat.

The next day, I made a decision that don’t wear the coat and only wear the black Burberry shirt, since I do check the weather, I know it is as same hot as the day I wear the black coat. After I come to Parsons that I am kind of agree what the school aesthetic, all black, it is kind of chic for me. And today I don’t have many classes today, I decide to hang out with my friends, so I wear as comfortable as possible, but meanwhile, I also want to be good appearance at outside. All back, it can’t be wrong wrong, it fits every situation. The black outfit combines with men’s cologne, they create a nice environment, it makes me reliable. So I believe that this outfit is good to wear when I hang out with my friends.

Le smoking is very famous, it is not only because of how beautiful it is, how glory or chic it is, but also because the smoking jacket is made for women. It is almost the earliest time that women can dress like a man and smoke like a man. On the most famous smoking lady photograph, the lady stands like a man, like a masculine man. That advertisement absolutely satisfied women’s desire, how much they want to break the boundary of gender. That is another reason why it becomes so popular at that time. “Gender as ‘softly assembled’ in a complex articulation of the body, time, psychology, and culture space.” [1] The first try of across the boundary of gender blurs it, on the other hand it approved that the boundary of gender or sex is not as strict as it looks like. Fashion has the possibility to across the gender, and fashion should not be limited by gender.

Fashion does not define. It is instead a term that demands definition.

Fashion is a trend, which changes all the time. Each generation or era has its own specific trend, which is also called fashion. So fashion is not only about definition. One side, it keeps its original meaning, on the other hand, it keeps evolve, keeps absorbing other things to strengthen itself. So that’s why “fashion is a term that demands definition”, it reconstructs the term.

Fashion is intensely personal, in the same way that poetry is intensely person. It is a medium through which personal stories can be told, memories re-lived a futures foretold.

Everyone can have their own fashion, which means that fashion could represent that person’s personality or characteristics. That’s very personal and very unique, nobody could copy it. Everyday, the fashion could give the person different specialties to help each person become more personal or unique. And everyone could tell the public about their story through the memories they wear today.
