This studio project refers to the reading of The Mirror Stage and Transparency and Opacity. From the reading, I learnt that the reflection in “the mirror” is not what we really look like. It might just be the imagination and misunderstanding. Mirror has the property of clarity and also like Edouard said that mirror has the feature of opacity which we couldn’t see through it. Thus, I want to express my understanding though my drawing. In my mind, geometrical shapes have very unique quality of sharpness, just like the fragments of glass. The color I choose are different shades of blue, pink and green. The whole drawing very muck looks like a graphic image from far away. My intension is that Graphic image is usually gives people a very clear and pellucid feeling to make the viewers get the information right away. However, the reading tells us that not everything can be understood once you see it. There might have a lot more behind the surface than you think. When you look at my drawing, you think it is a graphic design, but if you look closely you will find i isn’t. When you think the color on the edge is black, you are tricked by the high contrast between the light blue and the blue that almost has the quality of black. Also, the light color in the middle are suppose to symbolise the reflection of mirror. However, I didn’t use any white because the light is not only one color. Also, truth not always refers to one effect.
