In China, we are educated that religion belongs to superstition which is opposite to technology. While I am trying to establish a kind of AI religion, will it also be “superstition”?
- What is technology superstition?
People who believe science brings the truth to us, it’s the No.1 productive force. Science is the future of human being, only technology can solve all the problems. They take logic and reason as the first principles towards everything, all other things are superstition.
- The manifestation
- People over-trust robots and AI. They believe that it’s more possible for roots to make right decisions than themselves even though there’s problem with machine sometimes.
- Believe that life’s getting better because of the technology by all means.
Narrative:
I am a good example for who over-rely on the technology. I put all my memories in the iCloud: photos, chatting records, favorite songs, notes, and etc. For it’s convenient to switch between devices as well as safe to reserve. Also, I record all the time schedule on the Apple Calendar, to some senses, my iCloud knows me better than I am.
If there’s such kind of AI religion, people will duplicate all their datas in the cloud terminal including their physical data and thoughts. Anyone get that data can easily know the whole life experience of that person. But what’s more important is that people can upload their mind to the cloud so that they can live eternally. Without fresh and blood, we can still live in an infinite dimension within the cloud community.
Problematize:
How can I know the spiritual world of AI robots since I’m not one of them?
It’s really hard for me to put myself in the position of AI. For this, I need to do more research about the robot rights and their attitude towards human. I know a game called Detroit: Back to Human which is about the self-aware robots fight for their own rights. I’m still in lost about this part.
