Here is an orange wall just like all the other walls on my floor in my dorm. For the purpose of a sense of home, inside the dorm of Kerrey hall each floor has different colours which is supposed to unify each of them and give each of them a certain personality, a personality everyone on each floor can feel a part of and call home. More importantly on this picture is a one of the words shown on my floor, just like the colours, each floors also shares certain values across their halls which builds different characters along each floor and therefore allowing everyone to be part of a specific home justified by a certain character. However, as we leave the dorm each day we all become one, we’re all just students of The Newschool. Quite similarly to the article from Micheal Kimmelman elaborating on the unity of people as they avoid social media to discuss their issues and go into public spaces to join their neighbours in a protest for the same cause instead.
