Reflection on Biofuel Cell lab

My experience with regards to our biofuel cell lab was very exciting and quite eye opening. Having done such experiments first hand seeing actual results is encouraging for students evolving in a world desperately in need for such solutions. However, the real challenge that I observed with such methods is the incredible amount of space or eventually the amount of real estate these solutions will take compared to out current ones in order to properly stay productive. I believe that such technology can be improved by the quality of the receptors of that energy perhaps it could be more efficient and absorb more energy with less matter ? Or maybe how can that matter be more productive so it takes less space to provide such energy. To approach such solutions in the first place was great and it shows some hope for the future. If such resources are largely implemented in the future it will eventually look like some of the picture below:
