Two Faced – Tableau Vivant

This project reflects on human nature. Over time, humans change and so does their personality. Through these pictures, we see the two sides of humans; the bad and the good. However, it is only through the passage of time that individuals develop this fake exterior that could be misleading which presents an alternate reality to others. The repetition of images in form of an aligned provides the audience with a much more free flowing narrative and the idea of going back and forth to look at minute details.

Plot: There is a metaphor hidden behind these pictures. A beautiful girl is passing out a flower to a boy who is glad to accept it as a form of sweet gesture. There is an exchange of smiles; one being secretive and the other genuine. Over time the boy smells the flower and falls down with the destroyed flower while the girl stands holding at the back a lie in her hand. The contrast of the colorful flower and its poisonous properties became an extended metaphor for two identities.

My initial Tableau Vivant had a different pattern but yet in a grid form. Each picture was different. The lack of extension of one picture into another didn’t provide the narrative flow that I needed hence I decided to modify that aspect.
