Relating the elapse of the time to choices-making, I create this artwork that implies how time can pass by as we are making certain choices and the moment when we came up to an ultimate decision in our mind is the point to mark the time passing by. The block I located to do documenting is the Korea Way, at the 32nd St and between 5th and 6th Ave. The Time Mapping Project I made is in a form of brochure-like piece with three layers—front layer, back layer and middle layer that was inspired by the shape of the peeling wall (which also looks like shape of a map) on one of the photo I took. The brochure has two parts: reasons for entering the store on the inner front layer and opposite reasons for not entering on the outer back layer. The idea is to motivate viewers to interact with the piece through series of time-based actions, including flipping through each “store”.
