Reflection
For this project of exploring the works of the artist, Andy Goldsworthy, I got really inspired by the textures from his arts. To collaborate the elements of textures and patterns I found attractive in his artworks, I worked with strings on the “A” shape bottom skirt, which was the most time-consuming part, for I need to cut strings in small pieces and stick them onto the PVC base with glue guns. The most challenge part is that I have to make sure not to use excessive amount of hot glues that could easily shown on the surface of strings and affect the presentation of the texture concept. I’m satisfied with the final results and looking at the three pieces of my ensembles together since the pieces stayed in the same mood and well collaborate with each other to create the balance. For the other bridges, I would plan on explore more diversity of materials that could be further inspired by the “ephemeral” attributes of Goldsworthy’s works.
