As for my visual chronology, the basic idea emphasizes that everything in my life is like a small piece of puzzle and they all combine with each other to form various beautiful memories. Each puzzle has a different color and icon on it in order to represent a progress of my memory and what my memory is. At the beginning of my project, the first puzzle has a white background white with my Chinese family name in a skin color. Then the rest of puzzles are in chronological order and their background color symbolize my favorite color during different time period. I use soft felt fabric sheet to make collage for my piece. I cut them in diverse shapes and forms to create my own icons about my memory. In fact, I choose the idea of life’s puzzle to make my visual chronology, because I think a visual chronology is an individual’s personal timeline that identifies himself or herself. My memories come from my daily life and they all start from a small piece to become multiple coherent pieces. Everyone has his or her own memory whether it is a private secret or something general.
