Our first project for this class explored mark-making with various media, such as charcoal, pencils, pens, ink, and so on. After creating several gridded sheets of marks, I made three paired compositions expressing opposite concepts. I also created two nine-step scales that explored valued and progression.

Later in the semester, we used our mark-making textures in a Landscape Collage with Figure. I used one of my figure drawings and some textured or patterned paper to create an abstract landscape with a reclining figure.
