According to my Dress Practice interview, organizing the closet basically depends on one’s personal habits as well as the daily dressing. Each individual has his or her own way to determine what they wear every day and how they organize their wardrobe. As Sophie Woodward states that “The general organizing principle of the wardrobe rests upon clothing that is hung up and clothing that is folded (often folding is less disciplined)” (Woodward 42). This indicates the same way that my subject organizes her clothing. My subject hangs up all her heavy clothing and fold soft clothing like intimates, T-shirts, etc into her drawers. In fact, I always hang up my clothing both inside of my closet and on the clothing rack so that those clothing will be flat and clean. For another, my subject organizes her clothing by seasons, which means that she will put clothing worn in warm weather together and clothing worn in cold weather together. However, I organize my clothing by their types. I put all t-shirts together, all sweatshirts or hoodies together, all sweaters together, and all jackets together. Thus, I will know what certain type of clothing is placed and then choose what I want to wear. I think the difference of organizing the wardrobe between my subject and me illustrates that people have their personal habits or preferred ways on dress practice.
After this dress practice interview, I realize that each person has his or her own taste to dress themselves and way on how they comprehend what they wear will make their bodies look better.
