For this week’s project I chose demo one to create a small sculpture out of clay.Because I didn’t like the textureof Monster clay( not drying), and I wanted a solid sculpture material that could eventually become strong, so I used Stone color air-dried clay. And the outcome is really good.I want to make a sleeping position for creatures that live under the sea. It’s a bit like a dragon that combines the biological characteristics of a horse and a fish. I first built his skeleton out of aluminum wire and then used air-dried model clay to shape it. Because it takes time to air dry and it is too wet to work, details are drawn in batches. During the characterization, I suddenly changed my mind and wanted to create a scene where it died but also provided a foundation for other creatures to grow. So added some vines growing from his body at the end. Represents the cycle of life.
