I am at Shenzhen University which is located in the center of the city. In order to show the busy environment near university, I chose the intersection at the school gate as the shooting location. The sky, the buildings, the people, the traffic, the signs are all included in my photos.
First part
1
In the first version, I learned to use InDesign to display 25 photos in grid format. In this picture, I simply categorize the subjects I shoot in each line and display all of the pictures I shoot.
2
In the second version, I deleted some photos with unclear content. The richness of the image. And through constant attempts, I thought of highlighting the theme of the photo through the repetition and arrangement of the text.
3
In the third version, I arranged these photos in linear format in order to tell my narrative. Viewers could easily understand the content in linear pictures.
4
Final Iteration
In the first part of the four pictures of the sky and buildings, I slowly increased the clarity of the pictures to create the effect of people gradually paying attention when looking up. In the second part of the traffic flow, I copied the same pictures and overlapped them to create a car movement effect. In the third part, I changed the color of the picture and stitched two similar pictures together to form a continuous effect.
Narrative
The narrow sky squeezed out from the gap between the buildings. Reluctantly exuding a faint light. But everyone in the sky stubbornly revealed a faint blue color, and the looming rainbow appeared. But no one stopped to admire it, maybe only the building under the rainbow was watching it quietly.
The houses are densely packed, one by one next to each other. The small windows are continuous one after another like a honeycomb. However, many people are satisfied with such an environment.
The flow of traffic was endless, speeding along the road one by one. There are many electric cars that deliver food at high speeds, which seem to be faster than cars. But the annoying whistle sound did not appear.
The primary school students are over, and school is over. They gather in twos and threes, seeming to be jumping on the way home. Their lovely cheeks cannot be seen clearly under the shade of the trees. Dangling the hands together.
Occasionally there are old people walking, walking slowly along the street. Carrying something in his hand seems to be buying vegetables to go home.
The sky is still so narrow, but the emerald green plants on the street seem to make people feel more comfortable. The green leaves swing freely with the wind. This is ordinary life.

Practice on Motion
Second Part
1
We combined the photos together based on the similar object appeared in our photos.
2
Individual iteration
3
Final iteration
In this version, we continue to stitch similar pictures. And through symmetry and the repetition and connection of the same pictures, a psychedelic visual effect is formed. By cropping and shrinking some pictures, we create a continuity of objects. In the first line we mainly display static objects; in the second line we show more the dynamics of the flow of people and vehicles; in the third line we focus on the details and arrange some similar signs. And we added our story in the blank space for people to understand.
Narrative
The sky remains constant in each setting. The light reflects onto the buildings, people, and vehicles that reside there. Each building is taller than the next, overlapping with each other to create the neighborhood we live in today. Some images are silent with little to no sound but a distant car and the pressure of the wind in one’s ear takes over. Other images are loud, overwhelming, and packed with life. In the cities, people and cars are in constant movement, the noise never ends. Especially with vehicles like cars, motorcycles, and bikes moving throughout the area, honking at the smallest inconvenience. There are subtle parts of greenery that lay around each building that hold a small piece of “calmness” in contrast to its surroundings. People, signs, color, and forms of art including graffiti are only a few other influences in the neighborhoods we live in today. Combining all three of our neighborhoods seemed much more challenging than it ended up being because of the amount of differences each place held.
