This is a photo I took in a gallery I visited a few days ago. This is of a woman taking care of a baby. This reminds me of an ingrained mind set of some Chinese people (mostly from the older-generation or those people whom receive the education from the older-generation). They believe that the main duty for women is to get marry and give birth to baby. Women should life the way they wanted instead of getting marry at the “right age” and become a reproducing “machine”. In the article of Ta-Nehisi Coates, he brought up the idea of “race,” whereas colored people were being treated as object and unequally due to their “difference in hue and hair.” This relate to the idea of the way women were being treated as an object.Their life has been planned by others and they are born to get marry and give birth.
