Object as History Reserch Paper
“The modern approach has long struggled with interpreting historical objects, including the systematic study of the past in different aspects. Hence, the paper will explore the opportunities to bring out the meanings of the historical relic to life. Specifically, the mission is to awaken the contemporary memories of a pottery dancing figure retrieved from Han tombs —— the Female Dancer, 2nd century B.C.
Dancing pottery as a formative art and a unique cultural phenomenon has witnessed the development of sculptural and ceramic craft in the Han Dynasty. It takes root in the soil of realistic attention and has developed and evolved with the influence of various factors. The ancient Chinese have formed a magical thinking of the “afterlife”, followed by a profound culture of death.”
