- If you are doing interviews, describe what interests you about this particular topic. Tell us if you will interview strangers or friends.
I would source my material from an interview focusing on the entanglement between modern loneliness and solitude. Modern loneliness isn’t just about being physically removed from other people. Instead, it’s an emotional feeling apart from others – without necessarily being so. The contrary, Solitude, on the other hand, is a state of being alone without being lonely and can lead to self-awareness. Hence, I wonder what pulled people mentally apart, to what extent modern technology plays a role in such a relationship. and that “Modern Loneliness” addresses the lack of real-life connections with people, replacing such connections with social media instead, leading to people feeling more lonely in the new era of technology. The interview will interview both close friends and strangers. The variety of age groups, cultures, and life experiences would give a much more complete and accurate picture of modern loneliness.
Animation suggests modern loneliness in a variety of ways. For example, a character may be depicted as isolated or alone in a scene, interacting with others but not feeling connected to them. I can also suggest a sense of alienation or disconnection from the world around them using muted colors, minimalistic backgrounds, or a lack of movement or activity. I can also create a sense of emptiness or desolation, such as a character walking through a barren landscape or an empty city. Finally, animation can be used to suggest a feeling of being overwhelmed or overwhelmed by the modern world, such as a character being surrounded by a chaotic and overwhelming environment. All of these techniques can create a sense of loneliness in an animated work.
Experimental sound trials – what does solitude sound like?
Systematic Animation Sound Project Proposal
Introduction:
Animation is a visual medium that relies heavily on sound to create an immersive experience for the audience. The goal of this project is to create a unique and engaging soundscape that will bring the animation to life and create an immersive experience for the audience. The project could take a variety of forms that follows the respective facets, concepts, and production elements discussed below.
Scope:
Creating a soundscape for the entire animation, from the opening scene to the end credits.
Objectives:
The primary objectives of the animation sound project are to create a high-quality soundscape that enhances the visual storytelling of animation projects; it should be both dynamic and engaging while staying true to the story and characters of the animation. The specific objectives of the project are:
- To analyze the current sound design in animation projects and identify knowledge takeaways.
- To create a sound design that complements the visual storytelling of animation projects.
- To produce high-quality sound effects and foley sounds that enhance the overall audio experience.
- To ensure that the final sound design is of professional quality and meets industrial standards
Methodology:
The animation sound project will follow a three-stage approach:
Research and Analysis: The first stage of the project will involve researching and analyzing the current sound design in animation projects. This will involve watching and listening to a variety of animation projects including the examples given in the seminar, and identifying areas of improvement. The analysis will include the use of sound effects, foley sounds, and music in animation projects.
Sound Design: The second stage of the project will involve creating a sound design that complements the visual storytelling of animation projects. Specifically, I would conduct interviews with close friends and strangers with the question “When do you feel lonely and how do you perceive modern loneliness.” After having their permission to record, the sound will be edited in adobe premiere.
Production and Implementation: The final stage of the project will involve producing the final sound design and implementing it in the animation project. This will involve recording high-quality sound effects and mixing and mastering the final audio. The sound design will be implemented into the animation project using industry-standard software, adobe Premiere, and After Effects.
Expected Results:
The animation sound project is expected to produce the following results:
- A high-quality sound design that complements the visual storytelling of animation projects.
- High-quality sound effects and foley sounds to enhance the overall audio experience.
- A more immersive and engaging audio experience for the audience.
- Successfully suggest the character
Timeline:
The timeline for this project is as follows:
3/13 – 3/19 proposal, starting to source interviews, trials, and errors.
3/20- 3/25: continue to conduct interviews
3/25- 3/28: Audio editing
4/3 and 4/4: Progress check-ins Seminar and Studio
4/10: Final due in Seminar
Conclusion
The goal of this project is to create a unique and engaging soundscape that will bring the animation to life and create an immersive experience for the audience. I think the essence of sourcing sound from reality is to bridge the narrative with a sense of reality, which resonates with audiences and gives a more meaningful theme. The challenge of this task is to understand the precise cooperation between soundtracks and animated characters, and how sound affects the overall mood of the animation.
