“Loss”
Explanation
The loss of time impresses me every time I return home and realize how much my grandmother has aged. Hence, I created a piece based on a photo I took of my grandmother. Skill wise, I rendered several images together and adjusted transparency, tones and added textures using a graphic tablet. During this process, I see wrinkles can look cute in some way, they demonstrate imprints time left on our body that proved we once existed. Inspired by the thought, I returned to the piece; Adding plastic wraps on the younger side symbolizing our desire to stay young. Butterflies, and a cocooning texture on the decayed side indicates the beautiful experience the changes that time brings to us.
