Not to use any electric devices for 24 hours
Electricity is an essential part of modern life and important to the U.S. economy. People use electricity for lighting, heating, cooling, and refrigeration and for operating appliances, computers, electronics, machinery, and public transportation systems. The concept be a common see performance but I can never imagine my life without electricities. Hence, it pushed me to challenge myself and jump out from my comfort zone.
Rules: Do not use any kind of electricity for 24 hours
Strengths: It is a socially significant issue and it is highly related to my generations.
Weaknesses: this idea is commonly seen and my family is living in China soo their can
get worried if they cannot contact me. limitations in this project is the electricity is not completely avoid in the case of recording. This issue can be adjusted in the future by using an old traditional camera.
Take aways: Avoid electricity means rethinking my entire day and planning how I can function without the means of simply plugging something in. No electricity results in a complete loss of normality. Two critical things we need in our life are heating and water, and without electricity, these are both compromised. In terms of the social life, I felt super disconnected from the surroundings, the lack of up to date information is a new form of isolation in today’s society.
