Title: Digital and Paper modeling – Scene in Heidi

In this project, I will pick the main scenes in my favorite film Heidi, and remake the scene handcrafted. The digital 3D form will be viewed online by the students and professors. The actual 3D form will be made as a collection and photos will be taken. I might post them on social media so that more people can see them.

2. Objectives

I’m going to choose one scene in Heidi and make simplified clay models for them. The target audiences are the students and professors in this class, people that love this film, and people who haven’t watched this film yet. I hope to get more people interest in this film and watch it because it tells a very warm and healing story about family and friends. The scene will be made as a diorama in a box. The handcraft will be constructed with different materials such as wood, paper, cotton, or acrylic paint.

3. Methodology

First, I’m going to prepare a box. The base of the box is approximately A4 size, and the height of the box will be about 15cm. It is a paper box which could probably be a shoebox. But the size will be smaller than a normal adult shoebox. Then, the inside part will be made totally by clay, including the background, which are four sides of the box. The handcraft will also be made according to the sketch of the basic plan. After I finish the inside part, I will design the top cover of the box.

Deliverables: Documentation of each process including sketches, The photos of actual handicraft.

4. Budget: The maximum cost of clay is approximately 250 RMB. The cost of tools will be 70RMB

5. Additional research: Tutorial videos of clay handcrafts
