When I first saw the title ”A school design for homeless children in Oklahoma City,” I was thinking about the needs of these specific group besides the essential physical needs. “Home” can be a really challenging idea to construct without family. However, the architects at MA+ Architecture worked very hard to fulfill the goal that”Every room is themed with a home in mind.” I appreciate their enthusiasm. Also, what I found very brilliant about this project is that “The facility was designed in part by the kids, who participated in a “dream big” exercise, where they submitted drawings and other ideas of what they’d like to see in the new building. “ The children actually got the chance to speak up their needs and expectations of a school. respects their ideas and will as part of the design of the school.
