Greyscale Study and Photo Translation

For this Project the idea was to create a grid painting in greyscale. What I had to do was divide the paper up into squares and create 7 shades of grays, not including black and white, and use those colors to color the squares in whatever way I want to, which meant that I could use the same color for squares next to each other thus creating a rectangle. After that, we were then asked to create a photo translation of that painting. That meant taking greyscale photographs, whether that’d be from the internet or from our own image collection, and arranging it in a manner that would replicate the painting we did. The photo translation was definitely a challenge because making the grays exactly the same wasn’t easy. With that said I became pleased with the result I achieved due to that. Not to mention this was the first actual project that involved using photoshop as for some of the images I had to recolor them, this was a nice thing because as I’ve mentioned I rarely do work on the computer so this definitely helped me in getting comfortable with the software.
