The next two projects shown here acted as a way for us to understand more about the idea of incorporating text into whatever imagery we wanted to create while still abiding to some guidelines. The first image shown here acted more like an exercise that introduced us to the basic idea of type contrast, where it taught us how to create dynamic text without it being all over the place. The next few images was then the project where we had to apply what we learnt in the exercise. As with previous projects, the gists of this one was to choose a song and create three different composition by including the lyrics of the song in whatever manner we chose. The main rule was that for the first one we were only allowed to use a single font, two for the second composition and three for the last one. The colors were also a factor that played in hand as we were limited to only a few colors. Having always had an interest in typography this was definitely a fun exercise as it reminded of times when I used to create my own fonts and arrange them in interesting ways. The good thing about this though was that it allowed me to learn about the rules of typography which I’ve never known about beforehand.
