I must admit, this was the toughest class I’ve been in so far this year. Not only was the professor really strict but also because the standards were very high, with that said I thought this was necessary in order to push me even further. Because even if I might not enjoy every class I realized that I really did learn a lot from it, even when I thought I could already draw.
This here is a project I did on fabric rendering. The basic idea was to take a sheet of plain fabric and drape it on a friend and take pictures of them. In it there had to be several types of fold which include but not limited to a Swag fold, Billowing fold, .. etc. After that we had to trace each image on a tracing paper before we finally render the whole thing on Bristol using either pencil or charcoal or any media we preffered as long as it remained black and white. The rendering was definitely the hardest part, but I did enjoy doing this a lot as drawing was always my passion. I also realized how important precision was in drawings even, fashion illustartions as otherwise lookers won’t be able to understand what it is exactly you’re drawing. I think this was probably my favorite work throughout the whole class.
