About

As an artist, I crave complexity and narrative structure. I can only guess that this accompanies my love for writing, but all of the work I create embodies some form of narrative or plot driven theme. This is because I believe I have a lot to say in the form of stories, in both the ways that I write and I work. Breaking down structures to bare bones and patterns is therapeutic for that part of my brain that won’t ever stop analyzing different points of view. I tend to create things that would spark some internal connection with the viewer, or trigger some sort of familiarity. After all, we are all connected. And I crave to make people think – think about the future, their lives, others’ lives, the struggle of daily things or the possible struggle of others, or just even simple things like “wow, maybe I should quit smoking!” Whatever it is, thinking is at the base of it all. Our minds are so powerful, that we could break down and analyze almost anything, including each other and ourselves.

I like exploring the many options I have when creating something that involves a human subject, just because of the human element it brings. Humans are rather brilliant, their ability to adapt and develop emotional attachments and relationships is fascinating to observe. When working with one (or several) human subject, there are so many wonderful twists and feelings you can add into it, just based off of general human nature. As Twain once wrote, man is the most detestable of all species, merely for the fact that he is the only one who possesses malice. So, why not break down the studies of human nature, and show the world how human we all really are?

I love breaking things down to see the gears and how things operate underneath the surface. I love making artwork that scratches the surface, and dives underneath at the same time. Conflicts, matches, opposites, whatever it may be, everything is in relation with itself and to each other. It’s all about how you take the parts and how you put them together. I like to explore new ways to do things, new challenges and new methods to see what will be successful, or what won’t be. It’s all on how you look at it.

More than anything, my love of perspectives and P.O.V’s carries me far in exploring my writing, daily sketching, and overall ideas. It inspires me, and drives me to dig deep and find a new solution to an old easy-fix problem. Sometimes the best fixes take longer to discover.
