Memoir Process

May 31st 2012, Gezi events started as an peaceful and friendly protest but ended in blood and gore. The government so blind to actually see what Gezi represented to people and what it meant to protect such a place, tried to bring it down and build yet another shopping mall on it. People rejected to obey the governments ignorance and used Gezi as a symbol for uprising, but during this process many were harmed and some even died. In these photos I wanted to portray how one can harm oneself. Just as Turkey did to its own people. My initial idea was to make an abstract painting with watercolors on a 18 by 24 paper but the feeling of it was not satisfied with just paper so I projected it on my self to really capture the feeling.IMG_1882 IMG_1866 IMG_1901 IMG_1898 IMG_1892 IMG_1891 IMG_1890 IMG_1883 IMG_1880 IMG_1873 IMG_1872 IMG_1871 IMG_1864 Occupy Gezi
