DRAGGED UP
I wanted to take this project to a new level. Our objective was to collect data/research, make an argument, fairness, and outline and draft a paper, develop a research question/statement. I wanted to focus on one of the biggest phonemenons right now, which/who is: Kylie Jenner.
Kylie Jenner, 18, is a very powerful and influential person. She is one of the most followed people on Instagram and with such a huge fan base, Jenner, is built and empire. Such an empire that soon will make her the most famous out of all of her sisters.
Recently Kylie Jenner released a line of lip kits, which is named “Lip Kit by Kylie.” This caused an outrage. The kits were sold out less than three minutes. People were and still are obsessed with this lip kit. Jenner, after getting lip fullers, was the center of attention.
In this project, I projected the image of Kylie on a male and created a fierce, confident persona: A Kylie Drag Queen. After finding a model to wear such heavy make up, the project got out of hand. It wasn’t about Kylie and her make up anymore. The persona of the drag queen became a person of her own, naming her self: Plexi Class. I combined photos of Kylie Jenner and Plexi to show the effects of media, fandoms and extremes.
