Writing a memoir is both easy and hard. One can write a simple memoir by reminiscing old memories but in this case that is not enough. In this project we were told to write a short memoir on a memory of our choice. First, I thought this would be just another writing assignment but as I started to channel my memories I faced a struggle.
There were sometimes in my life where I was faced with harsh bullying. I chose to write about this specific topic because it actually taught me that I am more than what others and words define me. I am me! While writing this memoir there were times where I hesitated to put some information in, because they were very personal, so I paraphrased some of them and created a memoir which I am proud of.
I named my memoir “Bye Felicia” to show how much I cared about what others define me as and to show that I am now a stronger person than I ever was. I no longer have the urge to please everyone, which is frankly impossible. So, again, I only have one thing to say to those who are ignorant enough to refuse to grow up and realize that seeing themselves better than others means nothing: BYE FELICIA
